Khozam Heritage Palace Masterplan & Design

Khozam Palace is one of King Abdulaziz’s palaces in Jeddah. It was built between 1347-1351 AH (1928-1932 A.D). The long-deserted and now derelict Khozam Palace, located in the Nuzla Al Yamania District. It was the prime residence for King Abdulaziz in Jeddah, and it continued to be his prime residence until his death in 1373 A.H. (1953 A.D). Thenafter the palace was used as administrative offices by King Saud Ibn Abdulaziz until 1383 A.H. (1963 A.D), and served as one of guest palaces. King Saud handed it over to Antiquities & Museums Commission at Ministry of Education on 12.02.1402 A.H (10.12.1981 A.D). The palace became a regional museum on the honorable directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques late King Fahd Ibn Abdulaziz and was opened on 17.10.1415 A.H (19.03.1995 A.D).

Khozam palace witnessed hosting of many political and commercial events, like the oil concession agreement between the Government of Saudi Arabia, represented by HH Shaikh Abdullah Al Sulayman, Minister of Finance, on behalf of King Abdulaziz and Standard Oil of California represented by Mr. Lloyd Hamilton in 04.02.1352 A.H (29.05.1933 A.D).
